Text Difference Checker is built so that your texts never leave your device.
What we collect
Nothing. The extension does not collect, store, transmit, or sell any personal data. Specifically:
- The texts you paste are never uploaded. The comparison happens entirely inside your browser.
- Nothing you type or paste is saved after you close the tab — there is no history and no sync.
- The extension does not use analytics, tracking, cookies, advertising, or fingerprinting. This website uses privacy-friendly, cookieless, anonymous page-view analytics (self-hosted Umami) — no personal data, no cookies, no cross-site tracking.
- The extension makes no network requests of any kind. There is no server, no database, and no account.
How your data is processed
All comparison logic (word, line, and character diffing, highlighting, statistics) runs locally in your browser using bundled code. When you close the tab, nothing is retained.
Permissions
The extension requests no host permissions and no access to your browsing data. Clicking the toolbar icon opens the tool in a new browser tab.
Third parties
None. No data is shared with any third party because no data is collected.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be published at this same location with a new effective date.
